Every Stage of the Session.
Know what to say, what to give your client, and what to write in your notes — from the first hello to the final note.
Therapy sessions rarely go exactly according to plan.
A client suddenly goes quiet. A difficult disclosure changes the direction of the session. You know what you want to explore, but finding the right words takes time. Then the session ends — and the documentation still needs to be written.
This framework was created for those moments. Version 2.0 has been rebuilt from the ground up as a practical clinical reference you can use before, during, and after sessions — with rewritten phrases, research-grounded guidance, and connections between therapeutic interventions and documentation language.
Everything organized around the way therapy actually happens.
Part 1 — The Session Flow
23 session-flow chapters take you from the first few minutes of a session through working with emotion, grounding, values, rupture and repair, risk, progress reviews, telehealth, and ending therapy well.
F — Find Footing • L — Listen Deeply • O — Orient Together • W — Work the Moment • L — Land Well
Part 2 — Tough Moments Playbook
26 challenging clinical moments with practical response guidance, including silence, overwhelm, guarded clients, difficult disclosures, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, anger, dissociation, boundary testing, stuck sessions, reluctance, and more.
Each playbook includes a three-step response ladder, advanced move, and escalation guidance.
Part 3 — Client Worksheets
Give clients practical resources they can complete during or between sessions with 45+ fillable and printable worksheets.
Includes resources for grounding, breathing, values, self-care, sleep, boundaries, anger, fear, coping, safety planning, grief, strengths, goals, and more.
Part 4 — Psychoeducation Handouts
Plain-language psychoeducation resources covering anxiety, panic, depression, trauma & the body, emotions, avoidance, rumination, anger, sleep, grief, nervous system states, boundaries, and how therapy works.
Part 5 — Notes Made Easy
Move from session to documentation with practical tools for writing clearer, more specific clinical notes.
150+ intervention verbs • Note formats • Mental status language • Client response & progress language • Risk documentation • Goal & objective bank • Quick note templates
Part 6 — Planning & Tracking
Stay organized beyond the individual session with case conceptualization, pre-session planning, FLOW session planning, treatment direction, PHQ-9 & GAD-7 tracking, risk & safety checks, progress reviews, discharge planning, and caseload tools.
Part 7 — Therapist Care
Practical therapist-focused resources including a Burnout Self-Check, 90-Second Reset, Supervision & Consultation Prep, End-of-Day Shutdown, and Early-Career Therapist Confidence tools.

I have used the client worksheets and psychoeducation pages more than I expected. They are clear enough to use together in session without needing a lot of explanation.
This has become one of those resources I wish I had when I first started seeing clients. There is so much practical material in one place.
The wording swaps are surprisingly helpful. Sometimes changing a few words makes a prompt feel more collaborative and less clinical.
I like the balance between ready-to-use language and reminders to adapt it to the client. It does not feel like it is trying to replace clinical judgment.
There is a lot here without feeling like everything is thrown together. The contents and finder make it surprisingly easy to get to the right topic.
